Kindergarten Education

Where the Journey of Knowledge Begins

Welcome Message

Welcome to the Kindergarten Department at Cedars High School, where every child’s educational journey begins with joy, curiosity, and care. As the Head of Kindergarten, I am honored to lead a team of passionate educators dedicated to making this first school experience a beautiful and memorable one for your child.

We understand that Kindergarten is often a child’s first step away from home, and we are committed to ensuring this transition is smooth, positive, and filled with love. Our goal is to create a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. Through play-based learning and personalized attention, we help each child build confidence, develop essential skills, and discover the joy of learning.

At Cedars, we believe that a happy start to school sets the foundation for a lifetime of curiosity and success. Together with our families, we create a community where every child thrives.

Kindergarten Department Overview

Our Kindergarten Department welcomes children aged 3 to 6 years old, spanning three foundational years: KG1, KG2, and KG3. We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where young learners can explore, grow, and thrive. Our program is designed to create a positive first school experience that fosters a love for learning and builds the foundation for future academic and personal success.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Building Confidence and Independence: We help children develop self-confidence and independence through play-based learning, encouraging them to explore their surroundings and express themselves freely.
  • Fine Motor Skills Development: Through targeted activities and psychomotor therapy integrated into our Physical Education (PE) program, we strengthen fine and gross motor skills, ensuring children develop the physical coordination they need for writing, drawing, and other essential tasks.
  • Emotional and Psychological Well-Being: Our dedicated psychologist works closely with students, teachers, and parents to ensure each child feels emotionally secure and supported.
  • Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): We teach children how to navigate emotions, build friendships, and collaborate with others, fostering empathy and resilience from an early age.
  • Play-Based Learning: Through guided play, children explore concepts in literacy, numeracy, science, and the arts, making learning fun and engaging.

Our goal is to create a happy, safe, and loving environment where children feel excited to come to school every day, carrying this joy with them throughout their educational journey.

Curriculum Overview

Our Kindergarten curriculum is designed to provide a holistic and engaging learning experience, rooted in play-based and inquiry-based approaches. We focus on nurturing curiosity, creativity, and foundational skills that prepare children for elementary school and beyond.

Key components of our curriculum include:

  • Literacy and Numeracy: Through stories, songs, and hands-on activities, children develop early reading, writing, and math skills in a fun and interactive way.
  • Science and Discovery: Children explore the world around them through simple experiments, nature walks, and sensory activities, fostering a sense of wonder and curiosity.
  • Arts and Creativity: Music, art, and drama are integral parts of our program, allowing children to express themselves and develop their imagination.
  • Targeted Physical Education (PE): Our PE program, guided by a psychomotor therapist, focuses on developing fine and gross motor skills through games, exercises, and structured play.
  • Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): We incorporate SEL into daily activities, helping children understand their emotions, build relationships, and develop problem-solving skills.
  • Global Awareness: Through stories, songs, and cultural activities, children are introduced to diverse cultures and traditions, fostering an early appreciation for diversity.

Learning Through Play:
Play is at the heart of our curriculum. Through guided play, children learn to collaborate, think critically, and solve problems, all while having fun. Our classrooms are designed to be vibrant, interactive spaces where children feel inspired to explore and learn.

What We Aim to Achieve

Our goal is to provide a joyful and enriching start to your child’s educational journey. By the end of their time in Kindergarten, children will:

  • Develop foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and science, preparing them for the academic challenges of elementary school.
  • Build confidence and independence, learning to express themselves and navigate their surroundings with ease.
  • Strengthen fine and gross motor skills through targeted activities and psychomotor therapy, ensuring they are physically ready for writing, drawing, and other tasks.
  • Cultivate social-emotional skills such as empathy, collaboration, and resilience, helping them build healthy relationships and manage emotions.
  • Discover the joy of learning through play-based activities that spark curiosity and creativity.

Most importantly, we aim to nurture happy, confident, and curious learners who carry the love of learning with them throughout their school years and beyond.
